Four and Fabulous

Amelia is four.

Four.

She is so sassy these days, but on her best days I am just floored by her love for everyone and her imagination. On her worst days I am also floored by her fierce temper, made faces, and new verbiage. [Duh + Whatever are her new go to comebacks.]

She loves dressing up and doing crafts. She will paint all the things. Lately she has been asking to steal grab big rocks from walks, or the library parking lot, and paint them when we get home. I actually love this because I can decorate my home with these art pieces.

Amelia has given up on naps. Sad day for me. Instead, she does "quiet time" and will play or watch Youtube kids. This is great and she is much like her parents when it comes to playing with friends, but also needing time alone. She will play with dolls or her little ponies and to hear her have them talk is pure joy to me.

We celebrated her birthday week! Before her big day she spent the afternoon with her Aunt Lindsay and cousins. They played on the trampoline and in the sprinkler. On her birthday she woke up to a decorated house and a NEW BIKE! Her uncles came to visit on her actual birthday, then we rented a bounce house and took it to her baby sitter's house for ALL the kids to play with. They also swam there. Then we had dinner and she opened a few more presents. Then the following weekend MORE PRESENTS at the lake! My mom got her a ball pit that has a tunnel and tent [and 200 small balls that find their way into my smallest spaces.... and Amelia/Harrison's heart]. My dad got her a doll that actually pees. Yes, I then bought cloth diapers for that doll. The Burman side of the family got Amelia a Jeep Power Wheel and that is the gift that keeps giving since Amelia will drive Harrison around. I love it all!

There were lots of cards and calls and Amelia is just so loved.

Cousins and Family Time

The Burman/Seder Clan got to celebrate Mother's Day together. We met in Bluffton, at the China Buffet (This was great because what mom wants to cook!). Then we played at our house until it was close to bedtime. These are my favorite times to get pictures of all the kids. They are full of food, in a place where they can play, and the backyard is my jam when it comes to pictures.

Summer weather has been amazing and I am loving getting to see these people more often. The Seders are in the summer of camping with their sweet new camper, and we will all be at the lake often. I am excited to get more pictures with water involved.

Since Harrison was too busy playing he had to get a few alone, and of course with his PaPa.

Harrison's First Hair Cut

There is not a lot to post about this, it is more for documentation. I love Harrison's hair. It is strawberry blonde (temper to match) and has a few curls. It also grows in the form of a mohawk. His cowlicks are dominant and seem to be working against each other. It was time for a trim since it was getting in his eyes. We decided to meet daddy at the Great Clips where he gets his hair cut and do the deed.

Harrison sat on Ben's lap. He did such a great job! To help him sit still, I got a smoothie to drink in moment of "I really need him to sit still for this part" and it worked! Amelia didn't get her first hair cut until she was much older and could listen to instructions, so this was a new one for me.

He is such a stud now - he also looks about 15, especially in his cargo shorts and polo. Swoon.

Dance Show

Amelia loved her first year of dance. She focused on tap and jazz. The did introduce some gymnastics and that was fun. Towards the end of the year I had to wrangle hold Harrison so he didn't try and join the tumbling at the end of class. Amelia and I clearly both got a workout.

I took pictures during the dress rehearsals so I could be present at the show. Then a failed communication of timing made it so I had to take Harrison to the said dress rehearsal. Other moms helped hold him, until he peed through his clothes. I am clearly up for mom of the year since I didn't pack a stitch of clothing for the boy, but had about four outfits for Amelia (granted most were for the show...and had sequins). So Harrison danced in the aisle with his sisters pink ballerina shirt, inside out to help me not feel so bad, and no pants...or shoes. ALL WHILE I TOOK THESE PICTURES. Amelia, someday when you are in your twenties as a young mom, please read this and appreciate the multitasking that had to happen behind this camera.
